  1. The stock market is trying to stabilize after two consecutive bad days as focus shifts to corporate earnings, which are usually positive on Tuesday. Here are 4 ways we manage volatility at the club.
  2. Big beat for Morgan Stanley. Revenue of $15.14 billion topped estimates of $14.46 billion, and earnings per share (EPS) of $2.02 cleared estimates of $1.66. A return on tangible equity of around 20%. At Club Name, Trading and Investment Banking (IB) earnings were better than expected. The same wealth management (WM) and pretax margin were also marginally better than expected. Bringing in about $95 billion in net new assets. Repurchased $1 billion of stock. WM should hear about the probe.
  3. Bank of America Completes a string of good quarters from banks. Earnings beat adjusted EPS of 83 cents and estimates of 76 cents. Return on direct common equity was 12.7%. Net interest income (NII) was higher than expected. IB revenue was better than expected.
  4. Solid quarter for Johnson & Johnson. EPS beats while sales miss slightly. EPS raises the low end of guidance by 5 cents. Organic revenue grew 7.7%. Pharma grew by 8.3% and medical devices by 6.3%.
  5. United Health Group Earning better than feared. Despite the fallout from the cyberattack on its subsidiary Change Healthcare, revenues rose nearly 9% to $99.8 billion, beating $99.21 billion. Cost ratio is better than expected. Adjusted EPS beats $6.91 to $6.59. Backs full year outlook.
  6. Club Name Honeywell Downgraded from Buy to Hold at Deutsche Bank on slowing growth prospects. That’s why CEO Vimal Kapoor needs to change his portfolio.
  7. Barclays double upgrades Tyson Foods From underweight (sell) to overweight (buy).
  8. Evercore ISI has started coverage in some semis. But loved everything about their coverage Intel And Qualcomm. Favors club names Nvidia And Broadcom as well as advanced micro devices and Marvel parallel processing and Texas Instruments, Analog devices, Microchip technology And NXP Semiconductors In the Internet of Things.
  9. JP Morgan reiterated Uber Also club names Amazon And Meta Platforms As it heads into its top internet earnings season.
  10. Goldman initiated coverage Draft Kings Buy and with a $60-per-share price target. Analysts attribute this to revenue consolidation, a growing total addressable market (TAM) and increasing profits.
